In short, it may just blow away your expectations.

In the battery life department, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are massive upgrades over past models. And now, users are chiming in with their own reports confirming that.

True “All-Day” Battery Life

Typically “all-day” battery life is just a wishy-washy and vague marketing term used to sell devices. That doesn’t appear to be the case for the new iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.

In fact, the general consensus among users who have spent some real-world time with the new devices is that they can last you through an entire day. And not just a 9 to 5 work day — but an actual full 24 hours.

One user reported that they still had 15 percent battery life left on an iPhone 11 Pro Max after 27 hours of heavy usage, which included reading, social media and video playback. Those are generally the things most users do day-to-day.

Similar anecdotal reports from users corroborating those results can be found across Reddit, Twitter and other platforms. But your own mileage may vary, of course.

But What About Those Video Tests?

We’ve previously covered a couple of iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro battery life tests that, at first glance, seem to show drastically different results.

In one test, the iPhone 11 Pro Max lasted about 11 hours before dying, while another test showed the device dying after about 7.5 hours of usage.

But both of these tests were YouTube videos that put the iPhones through intensive battery life testing for hours on end. While they’re a good test of battery life, they’re not indicative of how most people actually use their phones.

If you’re constantly shooting and editing 4K video on your iPhone 11 Pro, you may see about 7 to 11 hours of “screen-on” time. But if you’re the average user and your iPhone spends plenty of time with its screen off, you’ll easily get many more hours of battery life.

A Note About Updates

It’s worth noting that you could see drastically different results depending on what version of iOS 13 you’re running.

iOS 13 is a fairly buggy release and many users saw worse battery performance early on in its lifecycle. But Apple appears to have stabilized the battery drainage in the iOS 13.1.X updates.

But there do appear to be reports that iOS 13.2 can cause battery drain, especially in beta. If battery life is important to you, we recommend holding off or at least researching how iOS 13.2 impacts battery life before you update.
