The one-minute teaser gives an early look at the show, though it doesn’t feature any of the actors — which includes Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell. Instead, the trailer shows several shots of an empty TV newsroom interlaced with voiceovers.

Apple describes the show as a “high-stakes drama that pulls back the curtain on early morning TV.” In addition to the teaser on YouTube, Apple also set up an Instagram and Twitter page for the upcoming series.

While there aren’t too many details about the show’s storyline or plot, it’s based on (and will build on) the 2013 book “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV” written by CNN anchor Brian Stelter.

Apple TV+ Details & Release Date

Earlier this year, Apple first debuted Apple TV+, a subscription-based service baked into the new Apple TV app.

The service will feature a series of Apple-produced, original TV shows. In addition to The Morning Show, Apple has also released trailers for “For All Mankind,” a speculative series that imagines what the world would be like if the USSR reached the moon first.

While it’s undoubtedly a latecomer to the streaming industry, Apple is said to be taking a different strategy than competitors like Netflix or Hulu. Instead of producing a large slate of content, Apple will focus on “prestige” and boutique TV shows.

It’s also worth noting that Apple TV+ will likely only feature Apple-produced content. At this point, it seems like Apple isn’t interested in aggregating content from other channels or producers.

The company is said to be currently working on more than a dozen original shows, although it isn’t clear if they will all debut at once or in batches. “The Morning Show” and “For All Mankind” seem like they’ll be some of the first Apple shows out of the gate, however.

Apple has yet to officially announce a release date for Apple TV+, though the first shows are coming in the fall. There’s also no word on how much the service will cost.
