Is the Smart Cover any good?

I have the smart case on it now but I like th feeling if the ioad and the Smart Cover only covers the screen I take my iPad to school with me for notes should I get the Smart Cover

We have had both covers, and I prefer the smart one. My three year old daughter likes it because she can use the cover to set the iPad at an angle to watch her favorite cartoons on our bed at night. It’s pricey, but worth it.
