Whats the difference between the ipod touch and the ipod touch 2nd Generation?

Well…I have an ipod touch and want to buy a cover for it, but when i went to an online store it said there were two different kinds of ipod touches which i wasn’t aware of. So is there a difference in their appearances, for the way the cover would fit them?
