If you back up mac os 10.1 on a flash drive will it make that flash drive unusable, or unrecognizable to a mac?

I updated to mac OS 10.1 lion and made a recovery disk with a Kingston DT108 data traveler on my laptop. When i plug the flash drive in my computer does not show up anywhere.

…what? First off, that’s Mac OS 10.7, not 10.1. Second, it will have absolutely no effect on the flash drive. If it’s not showing up then it probably just croaked.
