How can you fix a delete key which has stopped working on an apple mac pro?

A friend of mine has a fairly new apple mac pro. The delete key has stopped working. She does not have an extended warranty. She bought it last September. In addition to checking to see if the warranty covers this are there any quick ways to fix this problem?

have you tried blowing compressed air underneath it? just canned air sometimes dirt and hairs and stuff build up underneath it and makes it stop working correctly
