Canon has announced the 60D, a $1099, 18-megapixel replacement for the venerable 50D. The new SLR boosts the still image resolution and adds Full HD video capture and an articulated LCD screen.

Canon Announces EOS 60D SLR

Canon has announced the 60D, a $1099, 18-megapixel replacement for the venerable 50D. The new SLR boosts the still image resolution and adds Full HD video capture and an articulated LCD screen.

Sony has announced two new SLRs that offer a new approach: instead of flipping the mirror up to shoot, the mirrors of the Alpha SLT-A55V and SLT-A33 are translucent, so the camera can shoot through it. This means, Sony claims, that they can shoot quicker and can focus while shooting stills and video.

Nikon has announced an updated version of their projector camera, a point & shoot that incorporates a pico projector. The just announced Coolpix S1100pj includes a 14-lumen pico projector built into the camera body, as well as a 3-inch LCD screen.
