May 11, 2010 – Canon introduced the PowerShot SD4000 IS today, combining a back-illuminated 10-megapixel CMOS sensor with a fast f/2.0 lens for enhanced available-light shooting. The SD4000 IS boasts a very fast burst rate, at 8.4 frames per second, along with high-def and slow-motion video recording. There's a 3.8x optical zoom, and a 3-inch LCD. Priced at $349.99, the camera is scheduled for May availability.
The PowerShot SD1400 IS, with its fast f/2.0 lens, is due in May.
